The First Battle of El Teb (Andatteib) 4 February 1884

During the winter of 1883-1884 several tribes of the Beja people began attacking Egyptian garrisons in Tokar, Sudan and the surrounding areas in an effort to aid Muslim Religious Leader "the Mahdi" in controlling Sudan and uniting its people. The Commanding General of the reformed Egyptian Army (Major General Sir Evelyn Wood) ordered Lieutenant General Valentine Baker Pasha to to extricate the garrisons of Sinkat and Tokar. We will use "The Sword and the Flame" Rules, a set of rules for the conduct of miniature colonial battles of the British Empire. Miniatures will be 25/28mm.
