Battle of Oaxaca, February 1865

From Nov. 1864 to Feb. 1865, Gen. Achille Bazaine & his artillery commander Gen. Courtois d'Hurbal advanced on the eponymous capital of Oaxaca State. The French had cut a tortuous supply route through wildly mountainous terrain to bring their siege train to Oaxaca while Gen. Porfirio Diaz fortified the city. Once the French opened up a bombardment from the heights overlooking the city, the Mexican position was doomed.

Instead of a siege, what if Diaz, with his numerical superior forces, had advanced out of the fortified city of Oaxaca to meet the French in open battle?

Rules: Volley & Bayonet Scale: 15mm Players: 4. The final spot will be open at the convention.
