Convention Rules / Policies
1.Overview ECDC is a convention striving to create a fun, safe and positive environment for all of its attendees. ECDC is dedicated to providing a harassment-free convention experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of convention attendees in any form. ECDC Staff will attempt to handle situations in the pursuit of fairness and ethics that keep attendees safe during our convention. ECDC’s convention is hosted on private property and thusly has final say in handling of attendees whose behavior and or actions that lead to other attendees being or feeling uncomfortable. Attendees are required to follow all policies set forth by Electric City Dice & Cosplay listed in this document as they may be established. Additionally, Attendees must observe all policies of the Facility. At the discretion of ECDC, the following activities are not allowed during the convention: Loitering Disruptive or unsafe behavior Excessive swearing or inappropriate language During 18+ events this rule may be ignored. Any form of harassment Acts that may result in harm to individuals or property Sexual misconduct of any kind Unlawful acts Possession of weapons not being used for Cosplay Open carry will not be observed within con space without written permission from the CEO of ECDC, which needs to be signed before the convention. 2.Identification and Badges A valid form of government issued photo identification is required for all registration purchases and pre-registration badge pickup for attendees over the age of 18. Identification may also be required for admittance to 18+ events regardless of badge type. Badges must be worn above the waist and remain visible at all times during ECDC, with some exceptions for Cosplay. Attendees not showing a badge will be asked to show their badge or be removed from the Facility and possibly black listed from all future events. If a badge is found please report it to lost and found immediately at Con HQ.
3.Minors Minors under the age of 17, must have the physical presence of a paid attending adult while at ECDC and must be accompanied by their attending adult whenever possible. Attending adults must be at least 18 years of age or have legal guardian ship of said minor.
4.Criminal Acts ECDC condemns all criminal acts including but not limited to harassment and assault, and asks that attendees report criminal acts to law enforcement. Harassment is any behavior that intentionally annoys, threatens, or alarms another person. This includes any unwanted physical contact, following someone without a legitimate reason, or threatening to physically harm someone. If someone seeks your attention and you tell them to leave you alone, their business with you is finished. If they do not leave you alone as you have requested their actions may be considered harassment. A person who assaults or harasses another person may be guilty of a crime under Montana State law. If you believe you have witnessed a crime, contact con staff ASAP and if nessicary call 911 immediately. ECDC staff will attempt to assist attendees in contacting local security or law enforcement if needed. Anyone caught committing a crime or requiring police intervention will be considered for potentially being banned from all future cons and be removed from convention space until further notice. Once an incident has been proven or resolved, actions taken by ECDC will be based off the facts of the crime/incident having been proven true.
5.Costumes and Clothing ECDC reserves the right to decide whether costumes are acceptable and may ask the wearer to make modifications if necessary. At minimum, attire must be equivalent to that of a non-thong bikini swimsuit. Shoes or similar foot wear are required at all times in the Facility.
6.Weapons and Props No prop or weapon that has functioning projectiles, un-sheathed blades or can be brandished as a weapon is allowed within ECDC Con space. If a weapon is purchased from the Vendors booth, you will need to remove it from convention space ASAP or risk violating our weapon policy by carrying it on your person. All weapons and Props need to be approved and marked with our Staff. Approved Weapons/Props will be peace bonded and require a waiver by attendee to be signed. Weapons that are permitted in con space will be marked with a Colored Zip Tie. By registering for ECDC, you agree to the following rules for props and weapons: All functioning projectile weapons are prohibited. If caught in the illegal possession of a functioning projectile weapon, you will be reported and turned over to the proper authorities. All bladed items must be kept in their sheaths at all times in public and function areas. Blades may only be drawn during approved events, such as the Cosplay showcase or similar events. Weapons should not be brandished or waved around in a manner that may be construed as use of the weapon. Gun replicas or other replica projectile weapons should not be pointed at anyone at any time, unless posing for a photo or part of a performance or skit during an event. Replica weapons and guns should be holstered when not in use for pictures or events. Notching an arrow to a bow is prohibited at all times, this won’t even be allowed for pictures or showcases/events.
7.Consent to Photography and Video Recording Attendance at ECDC constitutes consent to photography and video recordings by ECDC staff. Consent grants irrevocable and unrestricted right to ECDC to use and publish photographs for editorial, trade, advertising, and any other purpose and in any manner and medium; and to alter and composite the same without restriction and without Attendee inspection, approval, or compensation.
8.Photography and Video Recording Photography and video recording is allowed in most public areas of the Facility as long as it does not disrupt events or impede pedestrian traffic. Please be considerate and ask first before taking pictures of guests, Attendees, staff, or the general public. Specific events, panels, or areas may restrict or prohibit photography or video recording.
9.Drugs, Controlled Substances Attendees found to possess, consume, or be under the influence of drugs or controlled substances will be asked to remove themselves from the Facility or be reported to law enforcement. Refusal to leave will result in permit ban from future conventions and ECDC staff will contact the authorities to come remove you from the event.
10.Damages Caused by Attendee Please be respectful of the Facility by cleaning up after yourself and reporting damages found to ECDC staff ASAP. Intentional damage to property of ECDC or the Facility will result in removal from ECDC and a potential ban from future ECDC events. “Accidental†damage will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis. Attendees may be held liable to compensate the affected party for the full amount of damages.
11.Theft Without exception, individuals found to have committed theft will be reported to law enforcement, have their Attendee badge revoked, and potential to be refused access to all future ECDC events.
12.Liability ECDC and its affiliates will not be held responsible for any loss, damage, theft, or injury. Attendees are responsible for their individual actions and any repercussions that may result. Civil or medical emergencies are to be handled by the proper authorities.
13.Animals Animals are not permitted within the Facility unless they are registered service animals. Paperwork will be required to be presented upon entrance into the convention.
These rules and policy may be updated without notification.
