Ghost and Goth Court

Ghost Court and Goth Court are freeform party (or funeral) games about eldritch justice in a small claims court that settles petty disputes between ghosts, goths, and norms. They are comprised of silly, short—about 5-7 minutes each—court cases concerning poltergeists, hearses, grave sites, vampire LARPS, and many other matters of interest to ghost lovers and goths.

Participants can come and go as they please. We’ll start around 11 and keep going as long as we have people excited to participate. Play focuses on several players at a time: the judge and court officers hear testimony while the rest of the players take turns as plaintiffs and defendants. Anyone who wants to play can approach the bailiff for a role in a case and play a plaintiff or defendant, cowering clerk, dogged reporter, or mercurial judge. They’re also welcome to spectate and be part of a rowdy and opinionated audience, though people in the gallery might find themselves called as an expert witness if they’re looking too lively.

This game requires no preparation. Costuming is not required, but you may find yourself typecast as a goth or a norm (or alive or dead) depending on what you’re wearing.

There is a trailer for Goth Court here that gives a great sense of its tone, but every run of the game is unique.
