Carnage 29 Bolt Action Tournament

Welcome to the Bolt Action Tournament hosted at Carnage 29, Northern New England’s best tabletop gaming convention. We’re looking forward to a great day of Bolt Action.

The Player Pack

Armies must consist of 1,111 points and an Order Dice limit of 20, using the Version 3 army construction rules provided in the Bolt Action Version 3 Rulebook or appropriate “Armies of” book. A minimum of 556 points from your list must be in one or more Rifle Companies.

Army lists should be submitted through Tabletop Events with the “Message Hosts” button prior to the event.

Armies are highly recommended to be fully painted, but there is no requirement or detriment to scoring.

All models must be “what you see is what you get” and have any purchased upgrades represented on the model. Any proxy models must be approved by the Tournament Organizers and communicated to your opponents.

The Carnage 29 Bolt Action Tournament will use any FAQ released by Friday, October 16th.

Missions and Objectives

Three games will be played on Saturday.

Missions will be preselected from the Commander’s Compendium, but will not be announced until the day of the tournament.

Games will be scored as follows: 3 points for a Victory, 1 point for a Draw, 0 points for a Defeat.

Both players should also report the number of enemy Order Dice they have claimed, as these will be used for tiebreaking purposes.

In the event of a concession, the player who does not concede will be awarded a Victory and assumed to have claimed all of their opponent’s Order Dice. The conceding player will be awarded a Defeat and assumed to have claimed none of their opponent’s Order Dice - regardless of the situation on the tabletop at the point of concession. If there are any questions or clarifications over concessions, call a Tournament Organizer to the table.

Objectives will not confer a cover bonus or block line of sight.

Gameplay

Two hours will be allotted for each game. Time updates will be provided as the games progress.

When “time’s up” is called, no additional Order Dice may be drawn. Instead, the current Order Dice is completed, and the game ends. The only exception to this is the “You men, snap to action” rule, which would allow dice to be taken out of the bag per the rule.

If at any point a question arises about a rule or any other point of gameplay or conduct, please call a Tournament Organizer. Tournament Organizers will be on hand throughout the event.

Fair Play and Sportsmanship

Cheating and unsportsmanlike conduct will not be tolerated at the Carnage 29 Bolt Action Tournament. Examples of such behavior include slow playing, fast-rolling, and verbal abuse.

If you have any concerns over fair play and sportsmanship, call for a Tournament Organizer, and they will decide the best course of action for the situation. Tournament Organizers have the final say and may provide punishment up to and including disqualification from the tournament.

Sunday

Players should arrive at the Snowshed Cafeteria by 8:00 AM so that matches can be created and the first round can begin by 8:30 AM. There will be two fifteen-minute breaks between rounds as well as a one-hour break for lunch.

What to Bring

Players should bring their Bolt Action Version 3 Rulebook, their army, a measurement device, two sets of Order Dice, and any other game aids needed, including pin markers and templates.

Players should bring a printed copy of the FAQ and Errata for Bolt Action Version 3.

Players should bring multiple physical copies of their army list for themselves, their opponents, and the Tournament Organizers.

In order to provide tables with dense enough terrain, any players who are willing and able to bring terrain to be used for the tournament should contact the Tournament Organizers with what they are willing to bring for terrain.

Players should bring a positive attitude and their competitive spirit for a great day of Bolt Action.
