is a tabletop gaming convention focused on the independent and small publisher side of the industry, while also making table-space for gaming available to the general public, providing a game library, and including special events for attendees. GTEX 2019 will be located at the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake hotel, across the street from the Johnson Space Center. Join us for a weekend of gaming on September 7-8, 2019. For those with weekend badges we will have a preview night beginning Friday at 8pm. (A weekend badge is any badge that is not limited to a single day of attendance.)
Although open gaming runs 24 hours, the Exhibit Hall hours are limited to the following days/time:
With 24-hour gaming starting on Friday night, you may need a place to crash that is closer than your home. We have arranged for a block of rooms at the Hilton at a rate of $89 per night for a single king bed room or for a 2 double bed room. The hotel has now closed the room block. There are still rooms available at the Hilton Houston NASA Clear Lake, but they are not at the block rate.
GTEX is proud to include the Ettin Games and Hobbies board game library at our event. The library is open to all attendees for the duration of the show, so come find a new game or play an old favorite!
The library and open gaming space will be available starting 8pm Friday evening until the con is over on Sunday at 5pm. Please note that checkout of games will stop at 4pm on Sunday even though you can play one you've already checked out until 5pm.
We will once again have a selection of games that attendees can play to win that copy of the game at the end of the show. Simply visit the Game Library and ask about the play-to-win titles to see what's available and get in a game. Each of these games will be given away to a randomly selected person who played that copy of the game during the show. They will be given away concurrently with the conclusion of the Passport Program (see below) at 4pm on Sunday in the Discovery Ballroom.
Get your passport card from the registration desk when you pick up your badge and then visit each of our Exhibitors and our Partner Skirmisher Publishing to collect stickers in your passport from each booth. Collecting those stickers will require at least talking to them about their games and possibly viewing or participating in a demo of a game. Once you have visited all of them and collected your stickers, return your passport card to the Registration desk. Then, Sunday, September 8th, 2019 at 4pm in the Discovery Ballroom we will randomly select winners from the pool of completed passport cards. Prizes include games and gift certificates donated by our sponsors and supporters. Chances of winning depend on the number of entries and the number of donated prizes. (Limit of one passport card per badge. Free wristbands for children 10 and under do not count as a badge.)
