Policies

The following policies are recommended for all Protospiel events, but may be modified by each Protospiel event to suit its own needs:

All attendees (Designers, play testers, publishers, guests, volunteers, and staff) are expected to abide by a set of policies which are in compliance with United States law and the general policies of the venue.

Rules of the Convention

  • Badges - Your badge must be worn at all times when in any of the convention areas.
  • Alcohol - Alcohol is allowed, subject to all laws and rules. Drunkenness, Brawling, and General Rowdiness will be dealt with at the discretion of the organizers and/or venue staff.
  • Smoking - In accordance with Venue Policy and Local Laws, there is no smoking in the venue.
  • Staff Instructions to you – Attendees must follow instructions and direction given to them by a Protospiel staff member or a venue employee. Failure to do so may result in expulsion from the convention without a refund.
  • Lost or Stolen Items – Protospiel is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Harassment

No attendee shall harass a guest, staff member, volunteer, another attendee, or other individual present in the venue. Any such behavior may lead to expulsion from the convention and revocation of your badge without refund. The convention reserves the right to remove any signage displaying what, or individuals acting in a way, it considers offensive or in disagreement with its policies and philosophy, including any promotion of hate, religious/anti-religious proselytization, unauthorized solicitation, anti-feminism, or similar.

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, political affiliation, body appearance, race, religion, or gender identity; sexual images in public spaces; deliberate intimidation; stalking; following; harassing photography or recording; inappropriate physical contact; and unwelcome sexual attention. Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If you, as an attendee, feel harassed, you may inform the offender that you would like the harassing behavior to stop immediately. If you are not comfortable doing this, you may contact a Protospiel staff member who will address the concern.
